Mango Refused My Return Claiming the Item ‘Smelled Like Detergent

31

On November 29, I purchased a jacket and a beanie from the Mango store in Akasya Mall. I decided to return the beanie. I went to the Mango store in Meydan Mall, and I encountered behavior that could make me boycott a brand I’ve been shopping from for 20 years. I was told that the product smelled like detergent and had been washed.

Yes, I smelled it, and it actually smelled like lemon.
I had placed the beanie in my bag to bring it to the store for the return, and I honestly don’t know where that scent came from — but if I had washed it, I would simply say so. I have nothing to hide; I’m not going to lie for $19. However, as a long-time loyal customer, I found this treatment completely unacceptable, and I want Mango to know that if my return is not accepted, I will no longer shop at their stores.

I personally requested that the product be examined to determine whether it was actually washed or not. I hope the outcome will be fair.
