Lufthansa Canceled Prepaid Extra Baggage Without Notice

In October 2022, we added extra baggage to our flight through Lufthansa’s website and completed the payment with their staff. However, without any notification, our extra baggage allowance was canceled. When we arrived at the airport, we were unpleasantly surprised and forced to pay significantly more.

We’ve sent multiple emails to address the situation, but the responses we’ve received have been irrelevant and unhelpful. After nearly two years, we received yet another generic email today, explaining that each person is only allowed two checked bags—something we’re well aware of and irrelevant to our issue.

This experience has shown us the true quality of a company’s customer service. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that we’ll get a resolution, but I’m sharing this to inform others. Lufthansa’s response time is incredibly slow, and they don’t seem to fully understand the issues brought to their attention. It’s been a waste of time.
