I experienced a serious health issue after using the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Uvmune 400 SPF 50+ sunscreen.
I purchased the product on June 23, 2025, from what appeared to be the official La Roche-Posay store on Trendyol. In July, while on vacation in Antalya, I started using it. The next morning, I developed burning, redness, itching, and swelling on my face and around my eyes. By the evening, I also experienced nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea. I went to a hospital in Antalya, where the doctor suggested it could be a reaction caused by skin contact and gave me medication and injections.
When I returned to Istanbul, I tried the same sunscreen again and experienced the exact same reaction, which confirmed the issue was linked to the product. After checking online reviews, I noticed that many other customers had reported similar complaints.
On September 8, 2025, I went to Forum Istanbul Pharmacy and explained my situation. The pharmacist told me that the Trendyol store might not have been the brand’s official page and that the product I purchased could have been fake or expired. They reassured me that products sold in pharmacies are safe, so I decided to buy the sunscreen again directly from the pharmacy (Receipt No: 000006, Document No: E0239943, Date: 09/08/2025, Time: 11:01).
However, after using the pharmacy-bought product, I once again experienced severe allergic reactions: swelling, burning, and itching on my face and eyes, along with nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea. This time I did not go back to the doctor because I did not want to face additional medical expenses, but my health issues are still ongoing.
The pharmacy staff were supportive and even arranged a product exchange, so I have no complaint against them. My concern is entirely with the product itself and the health problems it caused.
I contacted customer service twice, but the responses I received were neither clear nor professional. As someone who has trusted and used this brand for years, this experience has left me extremely disappointed and concerned, both physically and emotionally.
I am requesting a formal explanation and an apology from La Roche-Posay, as well as proper action to address my case. I ask the brand to take my health problems seriously, provide compensation for the damages caused, and investigate similar complaints from other consumers.
