Unauthorized TikTok Charge to the Credit Card of Kuveyt Türk

January 19, 2024 8:44 PM142

On January 9, 2024, an unauthorized ₺6619 charge under TikTok appeared on my Kuveyt Türk credit card. Despite the bank's attempt to secure the transaction with a 3D security code sent to my phone, I discovered the message unread the next day. Upon opening it, I found out about the transaction, which, to my surprise, was made from abroad. I don't have a TikTok membership, and no children in my household are capable of making such a purchase.

After numerous discussions with customer service and branch representatives on January 10, 2024, I filled out and submitted the dispute form to the bank. Typically, investigation processes that can take months are abruptly concluded with a negative response within 5-6 days. This incident brought back memories of a similar problem faced by another customer at a Kuveyt Türk branch, which I found peculiar at the time. It turns out, that one truly understands when they experience it themselves.

How can such a transaction occur, given that I received the 3D security message and found it unread only a day later? In this age of the internet, it seems we have no security at all, an unfortunate realization courtesy of Kuveyt Türk.

Kuveyt Türk Bank Deducted Fees From My $37 Transfer Leaving Me With Nothing

"You are not contacting me, claiming that the deduction is legal. The total amount of money coming into my account is 27 dollars, and you are seizing all of it. Where in the world is there such a business ethic? Where has it been seen that the sender deducts 10 dollars and you take 27 dollars? So what am I supposed to eat? What's left for me? I don't want this money; the money that came into my account should be returned exactly to the sender's account. I do not accept this transaction of the incoming money. From here on, I will go as far as filing a lawsuit with CIMER and the Consumer Rights Court. You cannot rob people like this in this day and age; this is an unfair gain."
