Kuveyt Türk Bank - Automatic Payment Failure & Unfair Interest Charges
On March 15, 2024, I had a school tuition payment due. I had deposited the money into my Kuveyt Türk account at 9:30 PM on the same day. Normally, the bank is supposed to automatically deduct the payment from my bank account, but unfortunately, it didn't.
I called customer service and they told me that the payment would be deducted by 11:00 PM, but it still wasn't deducted. Saturday and Sunday passed, and the payment still wasn't deducted.
Today is Monday. I went to the branch, called the customer representative, etc., and the payment still hasn't been deducted.
In short, even though I have had the money in my account for 4 days, it hasn't been withdrawn for 4 days and interest is being charged. Is such a thing possible? Can it be explained with reason, morality, humanity, etc.?
Why is injustice being done to earn 3 cents in interest? Where will this nation go with this mentality? Is it befitting of a large institution to earn 3 cents in forced interest?
I also waited for 2 hours at the Taşdelen branch, and during that time they were only able to attend to 2 customers, but to no avail. I have two installments left, and I will pay them off and close my account.
