My Profit Share Account Experience with Kuveyt Turk BankHello, I would like to share with you an experience I had with Kuveyt Turk Bank. The fact that this bank stated that it was based on religious principles and offered profit share instead of interest gave me confidence. However, what I encountered disappointed my expectations. In the summer of 2022, I opened a gold-based currency-protected deposit account at Kuveyt Turk. The bank promised a 3% annual dividend on this account. After I deposited my gold, I received regular quarterly dividend notifications, which initially looked very promising. However, over time, when I went to the bank to check the status of my account, I realized that the profit rates I was expecting were quite low. At the end of 2 years, I was offered a savings of 150,000 TL, but when I looked at the prices of gold grams in the market, the price of gold was 2775 TL per gram. As a result of my calculations, I realized I had earned only 400 TL in 2 years. This was far from the profit rates I expected. When I asked the bank about this situation, I was not given a clear and satisfactory explanation. The information they provided was insufficient and frankly created uncertainty. I have serious doubts about how fair and transparent the system offered under the name of profit share is.I have to say that this system offered by Kuveyt Türk Bank based on religious values is disappointing rather than reassuring consumers. I will prefer a more transparent financial approach from now on
