Kia Refused Warranty for My Sportage HEV Despite Manual Compliant Towing

My vehicle, a Kia Sportage HEV, has recently developed a noise emanating from the rear. Upon inspection by a Kia Turkey service facility, the issue is suspected to be related to damage in the rear differential or coupling system. However, despite the vehicle being within its warranty period, the service center immediately suggested that this damage is outside the scope of the warranty. Their stated reason is the possibility that the vehicle may have been used for towing. I must respectfully and firmly state that any use of my vehicle for towing has been strictly in accordance with the specifications outlined in the official Kia Sportage HEV User's Manual. The manual clearly permits towing trailers up to 1650 kg, a capacity I have respected. Utilizing the vehicle within the parameters explicitly stated in the manufacturer's own documentation constitutes normal and intended use and should therefore be covered by the standard vehicle warranty. Despite my explanations and reference to the user manual, Kia Turkey has maintained their position, refusing to further investigate the root cause of the damage under warranty consideration or proceed with repairs under warranty. Given the lack of resolution and what I perceive as an unjustified denial of warranty coverage based on the vehicle's approved usage, I have already found it necessary to file a formal complaint with the local court in Turkey to seek redress. As a global automotive brand, Kia's reputation for quality and reliable warranty support should extend consistently across all markets. I believe the stance taken by Kia Turkey in this instance is neither ethical nor compliant with the terms of the warranty provided with the vehicle.

With the support of Kia Gülal General Manager Mr. Ali Murat, the fault in the vehicle was identified, it was determined that the fault was covered under warranty, and the part was replaced under warranty in a very fast manner, after which the vehicle was repaired and delivered to us. We would like to thank Mr. Ali Murat, Service Chief Mr. Mehmet, and all Kia Gülal employees for their support during this process.
