iPhone XR Water Resistant Claim Failed After Falling Into The Sea

I used my iPhone XR trusting its water-resistant feature, but on Saturday, August 30, 2025, I accidentally dropped it into the sea. I pulled it out in about three seconds, and at first, it kept working, but after three hours it completely shut down. Despite trying to dry it, the phone never turned on again and does not charge. The service center gave me a repair estimate of several thousand liras, which I find unacceptable since the device is supposed to be water-resistant and I did not expect to face such an issue. I have never experienced a similar problem before, and I request that Apple resolve this situation and repair my phone.
