On December 23, 2025, I purchased a cashmere tank top from the Intimissimi Emaar store for $39. One day after the purchase, during the first wear, I noticed that the neckline started coming apart. Believing this to be a manufacturing defect, I returned the item to the same store to have it sent for inspection. The product was accepted by a store employee named R***,** and an inspection form with the code CGD28A was issued. I was told that I would be informed within 15 days at the latest.
After approximately three weeks, the inspection result came back and confirmed that the product was defective. Following this, on January 16, 2026, around 8:30 PM, I returned to the Emaar store. At the store, I was told that they could only offer an exchange for the same product. However, since I am aware that other customers who purchased this item experienced similar issues, I stated that I did not want to take the same product again and risk encountering the same problem. They further told me that if the replacement item also turned out to be defective, no further exchange or refund would be provided, which would place me in an even worse position.
For this reason, I requested either a store credit or a refund of the purchase price. Instead of offering a solution, the store employees used an extremely rude tone, gave contradictory information, and repeatedly changed their statements. Ultimately, they claimed that they do not offer gift cards and that they could not issue a refund, even though the product was confirmed to be defective.
According to the information I received from the Consumer Arbitration Committee, since the product was officially acknowledged as defective, a refund is required by law. I was harmed by being forced to accept only an exchange for the same item and by having my right to a refund ignored, despite the defect being confirmed through inspection. I request a full refund of the product price and a written explanation after a proper review of the negative attitude and misinformation I experienced throughout this process. Otherwise, I would like to state that I will pursue other legal remedies.
