IKEA Refused to Replace My Faded Söderhamn Sofa Despite Acknowledged Defect
The Söderhamn turquoise sofa I purchased from IKEA completely faded in color after some time. I requested an expert to inspect the issue, and while the expert acknowledged that the color had indeed faded, they rejected my claim because the warranty period (2 years) had expired by just 4 months. What I don’t understand is that the sofa didn’t suddenly fade after 2 years and 4 months—it had been fading over time. Now, the color is unrecognizable. This is clearly a manufacturing defect, and it’s baffling that despite the expert confirming the fading, no product replacement was offered. Is IKEA offering such low-quality sofas just to sell additional covers? I urgently request a product replacement and will never consider buying a sofa from IKEA again.
