IKEA Friheten Sofa Falling Apart After Only Five Years

In the summer of 2021, we purchased an anthracite-colored Friheten corner sofa bed from IKEA Bodrum store, trusting the brand and the durability of the product. However, for the last two years we have been experiencing serious problems with this sofa. There is a noticeable collapse in the cushions, the frame has developed breaks in the right section, left section and backrest, and there is also excessive pilling on the fabric. The sofa has literally started to fall apart on its own. Due to the break we experienced in the backrest, we requested an inspection for the product. The experts who came stated that this break was outside the scope of the warranty and that they could not help us, so we tried to find a solution with our own means. Over time, we have been watching this product, in whose quality we trusted, slowly disintegrate before our eyes. The price of the product was quite high both at the time we bought it and today. It is unacceptable that after paying this much money, the cushions lose their firmness, the frame becomes noticeably damaged to the touch and almost melts away. The 2-seater Kivik sofa we purchased in the same shopping is still as solid as a rock, while Friheten has reached this condition in such a short time, which leads us to think that this product has a structural problem. I believe that this model should be flagged as problematic and, if necessary, recalled. I also expect a clear explanation from an authorized person about what exactly the 10-year warranty covers. If meaningless breaks, loss of cushion firmness and collapse, and excessive pilling of the fabric are not covered by the warranty, I wonder which features of the sofa are actually considered within the warranty. As a result of all these experiences, I request that the Friheten sofa be accepted as a defective product and that the product price be refunded. I expect a swift, clear and consumer-friendly resolution to this matter.
