On August 28, 2025, I purchased a pair of Hummel Oja Jr. model sports shoes for my daughter from the Hummel store in Forum Istanbul Shopping Mall. Although the shoes were worn for less than 20 days in total, tears began to appear at the junctions of the mesh and leather materials on both shoes. These tears developed specifically in the area of the shoe that bends when walking.
I returned the product to the store for inspection and received a response stating that there was “no manufacturing defect.” When I tried to contact the store representatives for clarification, I was told, “Everything is handled electronically; there’s no need to contact us directly.” The shoes are still under warranty — according to Hummel’s official website, sports shoes carry a 6-month warranty, and when I sent the product for inspection, no more than 70 days had passed since the purchase date.
I do not accept that a pair of shoes that tore within just 20 days of normal walking use could be deemed free of manufacturing defects. A product losing its basic functionality in such a short time, and the brand’s failure to stand behind its quality, has been deeply disappointing.
I am requesting either a refund or a replacement for the product. Although I did not take photos before sending the shoes for inspection, I will attach a representative image showing where the tears occurred.
I kindly ask that the brand take my complaint seriously and offer an appropriate solution to resolve my grievance.
