I made a booking through Hotels.com and following my stay, on July 6th 2024, I sent the customer services an email, requesting that they send me a receipt that includes a billing address line, as my travel was for business purposes and I requried at least company name and preferably also VAT number listed somewhere on document, as required for reimsbursement by my institution. The document I received seemed unprofessional, being in some weird .odt format, and the address line was not included as I requested. But at least they sent something! Because now after 5 weeks and 5 further emails, where I have kindly asked again and again that they include a simple billing address line under my name and email, I keep receiving what appears an automated response as "Unfortunately, we are not able to supply a receipt with the level of detail you have requested. ... " And I keep asking them why, like if there is a written policy where this is stated, and just get the same response again. And on that document that they originally sent it states anyways: "This is not a sales invoice nor a tax invoice", so if this is the case why is adding a simple address line not possible, what repercussion would it have for hotels.com? I am literally dumbfounded by the incompetence and unhelpfulness of hotels.com customer services.
