I Face Missing Features and App Bugs with My Honor 400 Smartphone
I’ve been using the Honor 400, and while I genuinely find it smooth and high-quality overall, it’s frustrating how many important features are missing or poorly implemented—especially for a phone in this range.
Google Messages Doesn’t Work Properly: I’m not receiving any SMS through the default Google Messages app. I had to install a third-party SMS app just to get basic messaging to work. Even worse, Honor doesn't offer its own messaging app, which is disappointing.
No Charging Limit Option: My previous phone (Samsung) allowed battery protection by stopping charge at 80%, which helps prolong battery life. Honor lacks this vital feature, and I’m seeing poor battery performance even with light use.
No Modes & Routines App: I miss Samsung’s automation that handled Wi-Fi, mobile data, etc. Honor doesn’t offer any alternative, which is a big step backward in convenience.
Poor Lock Screen Customization: The lock screen is severely limited. I can’t reposition or resize the clock, and there’s no quick access to the notification panel—a major usability flaw.
Inflexible Icon Customization: I can’t apply third-party icon packs. I’m stuck with Honor’s built-in themes, which I don’t like at all. Even basic minimalist packs aren’t supported.
Forced SwiftKey Keyboard: SwiftKey is pre-installed and cannot be removed. I had to install Google Keyboard to get a better typing experience, but honestly, Honor should release its own keyboard solution.
If these 5–6 issues are resolved, Honor could become a top-tier Android brand. I want my next phone to be Honor again, but unless these missing features and bugs are addressed, it’s hard to recommend. Please listen to your users and fix these gaps.
