Honor 400 Software Shortcomings - It Lacks Key Features

I’ve been using the Honor 400, and while I genuinely find it smooth and high-quality overall, it’s frustrating how many important features are missing or poorly implemented—especially for a phone in this range.
Google Messages Doesn’t Work Properly: I’m not receiving any SMS through the default Google Messages app. I had to install a third-party SMS app just to get basic messaging to work. Even worse, Honor doesn't offer its own messaging app, which is disappointing.
No Charging Limit Option: My previous phone (Samsung) allowed battery protection by stopping charge at 80%, which helps prolong battery life. Honor lacks this vital feature, and I’m seeing poor battery performance even with light use.
No Modes & Routines App: I miss Samsung’s automation that handled Wi-Fi, mobile data, etc. Honor doesn’t offer any alternative, which is a big step backward in convenience.
Poor Lock Screen Customization: The lock screen is severely limited. I can’t reposition or resize the clock, and there’s no quick access to the notification panel—a major usability flaw.
Inflexible Icon Customization: I can’t apply third-party icon packs. I’m stuck with Honor’s built-in themes, which I don’t like at all. Even basic minimalist packs aren’t supported.
Forced SwiftKey Keyboard: SwiftKey is pre-installed and cannot be removed. I had to install Google Keyboard to get a better typing experience, but honestly, Honor should release its own keyboard solution.
If these 5–6 issues are resolved, Honor could become a top-tier Android brand. I want my next phone to be Honor again, but unless these missing features and bugs are addressed, it’s hard to recommend. Please listen to your users and fix these gaps.

Positive Aspects: -The camera looks fantastic, though I haven't had much chance to fully experience it. -The screen and interface provide a smooth user experience. Negative Aspects: -The battery life doesn't seem too promising; there's talk about the battery needing time to settle, but I won't confi...

I’ve had nothing but problems with the Honor 90, and I’m seriously regretting my purchase. When I first bought the phone, it completely failed after being plugged in to charge—it wouldn’t even turn on. I had to send it to KVK, and thankfully they approved a device replacement. But now, less than a ...

I recently bought a new Honor smartphone, and I’m already dealing with a frustrating issue. Every time I get an incoming call, the phone asks for the lock screen password before I can answer. That means I have to unlock the phone just to pick up a call, which is both inconvenient and impractical—esp...

I purchased the Honor 400 smartphone from Media Markt specifically because the brand promised 6 years of security updates. This was the key reason I chose this model over others. However, just yesterday I found out that the promised update period has been reduced to only 3 years, which directly cont...
