HDI Insurance Denied Extension of My Replacement Car During Repairs
HDI Insurance has been a complete disappointment for my comprehensive car insurance claim. Even though my policy clearly states that I have the right to a 2 × 7-day replacement vehicle (14 days in total), I have not been able to use this benefit properly, and I have been left in a difficult situation. Not only was I already inconvenienced, but the situation is continuing.
Because of the adjuster’s decision, I was given a replacement vehicle for only 7 days, even though my damaged car clearly cannot be repaired within that time. Now they are asking for the replacement vehicle back on the 6th day, even though it was initially presented as a 7-day rental.
When I asked for an extension, they told me that it cannot be extended because the second 7-day period is supposedly reserved for a second accident. This makes no sense. Instead of allowing me to use the benefit when I actually need it, they are counting a future accident that has not even happened, leaving me without support.
I clearly told customer service that I do not want to use my “second accident” right. I simply want my current replacement vehicle period extended to cover the ongoing repair time, but the response I received was: “There is nothing we can do.”
This is a complete HDI Insurance failure. The replacement vehicle was only delivered on the 4th day after the accident, and now they are asking for it back on the 6th day, even though they originally said it would be available for 7 days. As a result, I will be left without a replacement vehicle while my damaged car is still under repair.
In this accident, the other party was 100% at fault, yet I am the one being inconvenienced throughout the process. Frankly, it feels as if I had been the one at fault; they might even try to charge me for the entire situation.
In the same claim file, I have already been treated unfairly three separate times.
If you do not want to experience similar frustration, do not choose HDI Insurance for your comprehensive coverage. This has been my final experience with them. I will share this situation with everyone around me.
If this issue is not corrected, I will take the matter to the relevant authorities and social media platforms to explain how disappointing my experience with HDI Insurance has been.
I am now waiting to see whether HDI Insurance will correct this mistake and change its unfair approach as soon as possible.
