Amora Astra Keeps Charging My Vodafone Bill After I Deleted the App
After subscribing to the Amora Astra app once, I immediately deleted the app. Despite this, I noticed that high amounts were being regularly charged to my mobile line. My Vodafone bill would normally be around $17, but I was charged $52 in August and an outrageous $87 in September. In total, I appear to have been unfairly charged around $61.
Even though the app had been deleted from my phone, I continued to be charged through Google Play under the descriptions of game/app payments and additional usage. I also could not find any “Cancel” option within the app or on my phone to terminate the subscription. It is unacceptable for a subscription to be designed in such a hidden and difficult-to-cancel way.
As soon as I noticed the issue, I called Vodafone customer service. During the call, they told me that they had canceled the subscription. However, despite this, an additional charge of approximately $23 was added to my bill in the following billing period. In other words, I continued to be charged for a subscription that I had been told was canceled. I am also attaching detailed copies of my August and September bills.
I request a full refund of all unauthorized subscription and content charges collected from me through Google Play, even though the app had already been deleted. I also request written confirmation that this incorrect/unauthorized subscription has been completely terminated and that no further charges will be made through my mobile line. I want my bills for the relevant periods to be thoroughly reviewed and my financial loss to be fully addressed. I also ask that these types of subscriptions be made more transparent and easier to cancel so that other customers do not experience similar problems.
For contact purposes, my Vodafone number is 0530*****26.
