I Had an Issue With ATM Freezing During Deposit
On June 13, 2025, I attempted to deposit money using the QR feature at a Garanti Bank ATM. First, I deposited around ₺10,000, then added a bit over ₺7,000 using the “add money” option, bringing my total balance to ₺17,800. I then selected “add money” again and deposited ₺11,200. The ATM screen froze and counted the cash about 10 times. After that, a message appeared saying “₺17,800 has been refunded to your account due to a cash jam,” but it didn’t count the last ₺11,200 I inserted. The ATM then broke down and stopped offering deposit or withdrawal services. I called the bank, and they told me there was a technical issue and to call again the next morning. When I called back, they said a report had been opened and I would be updated. Since I received no update, I called again today and was told that the money had been refunded and the case was closed — but I have not received the ₺11,200. They reopened the case. I’m requesting a swift resolution. After this experience, I’m hesitant to use Garanti Bank or its ATMs again for fear of facing a similar issue.
