Freelancer.com Made Unfair Deductions for a Service I Never Received

I created an account on Freelancer.com to have a website developed, hired a freelancer, and made the required payment. However, I was forced to cancel the project because the freelancer failed to fulfill the requirements that I had clearly specified at the very beginning of the agreement.

Despite the fact that I did not receive the service I paid for, Freelancer.com deducted a total of 2,200 TL from the amount I had paid.

These deductions were taken in separate amounts during June and July 2026. As a result, I not only experienced a significant waste of time on a project that ultimately could not be completed, but I was also unfairly charged this amount for a service I never received.

It is extremely difficult to reach Freelancer.com support regarding these deductions. I am faced with a system where additional fees appear to be charged for individual transactions, while it is also very difficult to find an appropriate and reliable point of contact who can properly address the issue.

I request a full refund of the 2,200 TL deducted from me for a service I never received. I also request that freelancers who agree to undertake work they are unable to deliver be held financially accountable, that these unfair and non-transparent deductions be discontinued, and that the practices causing financial harm to users be thoroughly investigated.
