Expedia Car Rental Experience: Issues with Hertz Insurance Coverage

I made a car rental reservation through Expedia.com, selecting the largest insurance package offered by Hertz. However, when we arrived to pick up the car, Hertz stated that they did not recognize that package and required us to purchase insurance again.
Additionally, Expedia had charged me $100 upfront, but Hertz claimed they did not see that fee and issued us a new invoice. It feels like the site only operates for its own benefit, and I cannot find anyone to address my concerns. I wish I had booked directly through the main websites of the brands instead of using Expedia. I will never use Expedia again.
