I checked into Ontur Hotel in İzmir Konak on January 13, 2026, with a reservation I made through the ETS Tur website. From the moment I entered the hotel, I was exposed to intense drilling and hammering noises due to ongoing renovation work, making it impossible for me to rest or sleep in my room. The noise continued nonstop until around 6:00 PM and started again the next morning at approximately 8:30 AM.
When I contacted the hotel staff and management about the situation, I was informed that this was a long-term renovation project and that a fire protection system was being installed on the upper floors, meaning the noise would continue throughout the day. I stated that under these conditions I did not want to stay at the hotel and wished to check out. However, I was told that if I left, one night’s fee would still be charged.
Since I did not accept paying for a night spent under constant construction noise, I was effectively forced to stay, despite being unable to properly rest. I am filing a complaint against both Ontur Hotel and ETS Tur because this renovation work and the severe noise were not disclosed at the time of booking, and I paid for a service that I could not actually use in a peaceful and quiet manner. I request a full refund of the first night’s charge, which was taken under these unacceptable conditions.
