Etihad Damaged My Luggage – Suitcase Handle Ripped Off

I traveled with Etihad on flight EY5 from Delhi to Washington Dulles via Abu Dhabi on April 2–3, 2026. After landing at Dulles, I collected my two checked suitcases from the conveyor belt and placed them on a cart. While proceeding towards the pick-up area, I noticed that one of the suitcases had been significantly damaged. The handle of the suitcase was completely ripped off, leaving two large exposed holes, and the handle itself was missing. This damage did not exist when I checked in the luggage, and it clearly occurred during handling on this journey. The damaged suitcase was purchased in 2025 for approximately 125 USD. Due to the extent of the damage and the missing handle, the suitcase is no longer usable as intended. I request that Etihad refund the value of the damaged suitcase, which is 125 USD, as compensation for the damage caused during baggage handling on this flight.
