I’ve been using the Ecovacs Deebot N20 Pro Plus for just two days, and I already regret the purchase. While the robot excels in suction power, Wi-Fi connectivity, and mapping, the obstacle detection is shockingly poor. It repeatedly slams into the same spot at high speed, completely ignoring walls, table legs, and other objects.
For example, it doesn’t recognize the large mirror and crashes into it constantly. It tries to climb over a structural piece that connects table legs at the bottom. It doesn’t detect a 3 cm threshold at my balcony door and aggressively hits it until it seems like it’s going to break something. This level of failure in basic functionality is unacceptable in a product in this price range.
I even scheduled it to clean a specific room while I was away. When I returned, I saw that it had dragged my child’s study chair into the hallway, flipped the rug, and created a potentially dangerous mess. How can it not detect a whole chair or desk?
The worst part is how poorly it performs when returning to the charging dock—it constantly fails to find it. I’ll try it for one more day, but if this continues, I’ll proceed with a return request.
