Dyson Gen5 Vacuum Lost Suction And Support Offered No Real Solution

In July 2024, I purchased a Dyson Gen5 Prussian Blue vacuum cleaner from Dyson’s own website as a gift for my spouse. We preferred Dyson because we had seen my siblings using a Bosch upright vacuum, and we assumed Dyson would perform even better. At that time it was one of the most expensive vacuum cleaners on the market, so we trusted the brand and its price. In the beginning, the Dyson’s suction power was indeed better than Bosch, but for about the last two months the situation has completely reversed and now Bosch has noticeably stronger suction than the Dyson. Because of this suction problem, we contacted Dyson customer service via WhatsApp. They almost made fun of us by asking us to pour tea on the floor and vacuum it so that they could evaluate the suction power according to that. Afterwards, instead of offering a real solution, they only sent us a link from their own website and suggested that we could buy a new filter if we were not satisfied with the suction power. They mentioned a filter cost of around ₺1,500. Any thirty‑year‑old vacuum cleaner can vacuum spilled tea from the floor, so I find this test meaningless and not appropriate for a product at this price level. Through this experience, we unfortunately realized that Dyson is a brand that is over‑praised on social media via influencers. Neither the product’s performance corresponds to the high price we paid, nor does customer service make a sincere effort to help. From such an expensive product and brand, I expected a much higher and more consistent performance, especially within the warranty period. My expectation from Dyson is that instead of putting the blame on the user or on the filter for this ongoing suction issue, they should examine the device seriously and, if there is any defect or hidden fault, provide a free solution under warranty. I request that this product be thoroughly checked and, if necessary, replaced with a new one or, if possible, that a refund be provided.
