Dyson Gen5 Detect Head Breaking Repeatedly - No Repair Or Refund Offered





I purchased a Dyson Gen5 Detect cordless vacuum cleaner approximately 23 months ago. About 6 months after purchase, the accessory on the cleaning head broke from a point that does not even touch the floor and is not a part that I would put under any strain during normal use. I had previously contacted customer service because the original head could not be opened for cleaning and, at that time, a new head was sent to me. However, the same problem later occurred with this newly sent head as well, and the part again broke from the same spot. In the most recent case, first one side of the relevant part broke. Since customer service did not offer a solution, I continued to use it that way for a while, and then the other side also broke. This part never touches the floor, so I am sure it did not break due to my misuse. In addition, the silicone parts on the vacuum have come off, and when I reported this, customer service told me that these could come off because they were only for visual purposes, but this creates a very unpleasant and shabby appearance. When I contacted customer service again after the last breakage, I was told that because a replacement head had already been sent once before, they could not replace the head again and that this part was not repaired. I was not informed in advance that such a frequently used and critical part would neither be repaired nor replaced again, even if the problem was not due to user error. If I had known this, I would not have paid such a high price and chosen this brand. Despite paying an amount equivalent to almost one month’s salary, the same part has broken twice in a relatively short period, and the silicone pieces have come off, which leads me to believe that there is a design or manufacturing defect in the product head. Due to these repeated issues and the lack of a satisfactory solution from customer service, I deeply regret purchasing this product and no longer recommend Dyson products to anyone. My clear expectation from Dyson is that this Gen5 Detect cordless vacuum be taken back and that the full product price I paid be refunded, as I have lost trust in the product and do not want just another head replacement that may break again in the same way.

I called again and spoke with Dyson customer service; they said they would forward it to a higher level and get back to me, but there has been no response yet. No solution either.

Dyson solved my problem by sending a new set of five. First of all, I thank Şikayetvar and then Dyson.
