Discovery & Thrifty Refused My Rental but Kept My Payment
I booked a rental car through the Discovery app from Thrifty at Stuttgart Airport, but when I arrived at the Thrifty counter, they refused to give me the car, claiming that my Turkish driver’s license was not valid.
I spent over an hour trying to reach Discovery’s customer service, and when I finally did, they told me that Thrifty’s rental terms required an international driver’s license—something that was never made clear during the booking process. As a result, I was denied the car I paid for, yet they refused to refund my 14-day rental fee, even though they provided no service at all.
I was forced to rent another car, which I couldn’t secure on the same day, causing significant financial loss and wasted time. Meanwhile, other rental companies at the airport accepted my license without issue, proving that this was a specific issue with Thrifty and Discovery's unclear policies.
Discovery & Thrifty, I demand a full refund for the car I never received! Has anyone else experienced this? I will be taking further action if this is not resolved!
