Couchsurfing Charged $14.99 Without Consent for Membership Renewal—Requesting Refund
November 20, 2024 4:28 PM35

After subscribing to Couchsurfing with an annual membership in 2024, I was surprised to find that they renewed my membership for 2025 without my consent, charging $14.99 to my account. I did not authorize this transaction and was not notified prior to the renewal.

Upon noticing the charge, I immediately submitted a cancellation request. I do not intend to use the service in the coming year and therefore request a full refund for the unauthorized membership fee. Couchsurfing must ensure that users are clearly informed of renewals and given the choice to opt out beforehand. I expect a prompt resolution to this issue and the return of my money.
