My Columbia Shoes Tore at the Heels in Under a Year but Weren’t Covered by Warranty

I purchased a pair of Columbia shoes on June 18, 2024, and within less than a year, the heel areas started to tear—despite regular use and proper care. On March 31, 2025, I returned the shoes to the store for inspection. However, by April 16, they were returned to me along with a report stating that there was no manufacturing or material defect.
I’ve been a loyal Columbia customer for years, and this is the first time I’ve experienced such a disappointment. The condition these shoes are in after such a short period is not acceptable, especially from a brand that promotes durability and outdoor performance.
I’ve included photos showing the damage, and frankly, I expected more accountability. If I can’t get a fair resolution here, I will no longer buy from Columbia, and I will share my negative experience with friends and family who are also outdoor gear buyers.
Columbia, this isn’t just about one pair of shoes—it’s about whether your warranty means anything. Please replace the defective product or issue a refund.
