China Southern Airlines Delivers Damaged and Opened Checked Luggage
1

On March 20, 2026, I traveled with China Southern Airlines from Osaka to Istanbul via Guangzhou. When I received my checked luggage, both suitcases had been damaged and appeared to have been opened. The protective covers on both suitcases had been removed and were missing. The baggage tags attached to my suitcases were numbered CZ 638867 and CZ 638866.

As soon as I noticed the damage, I went to the baggage services desk and reported the issue to the staff member in charge. The staff member sent photos of the suitcases to the responsible person, but I was told that there was nothing they could do and that I could only send an email through the China Southern Airlines website. No incident report, baggage damage report, or other documentation was prepared for me.

I am requesting compensation for the loss and damage I suffered as a result of my suitcase covers being lost and my luggage being opened and damaged. I also request that the incident be thoroughly investigated and that the necessary measures be taken to prevent other passengers from experiencing similar problems in the future.
