I Face Double Insurance Charge and No Refund From Carjet in Samos Rental
Between September 1 and 5, 2025, I rented a car in Samos through Carjet (Reservation Code: Res911837). Through Carjet, I purchased the Platinum Damage Waiver (Full Protection) insurance for 1,466 TL (around $49). However, when I arrived to pick up the vehicle from Hertz, I was told that the Carjet insurance was not accepted, and I was forced to buy an additional “Super Cover” insurance directly from Hertz for €84.24.
I contacted Carjet’s customer service twice to report this issue. In their first response, they stated that no refund could be issued once the contract was signed and expressed their regret. For my second message, I received no response at all.
Due to Carjet’s lack of proper information, I was charged twice for insurance coverage — once through Carjet and once by Hertz. Despite presenting my Carjet insurance policy, it was rejected by the rental company.
I am therefore requesting a full refund of the insurance fee I paid to Carjet, as the coverage I purchased from them was not honored at the time of vehicle pickup.
