On 01/11/2024, I rented a car from Budget, and the next day, just a few hours before I was due to return it, the car began leaking water from the front. Although the temperature gauge stayed normal, I parked safely, checked the situation, and called the number provided. I explained the issue, noted there was no damage, and even mentioned the car appeared previously damaged due to misaligned headlights. The representative listed nearby service centers, but I clarified that since the car was faulty, Budget should handle the repair logistics, not me.
Despite this, they offered no replacement vehicle, and I had to unload my belongings and wait over an hour for a tow truck. When I asked about replacement transport, I was informed they don’t provide it for in-city breakdowns—only for out-of-city cases. They eventually towed the car, but follow-up was poor. Later, they even tried to charge my card for non-return of the vehicle, which was already in their possession. Days later, my deposit still hasn’t been refunded. I called Budget again, only to be told they were “waiting for the car to return from the service center.” Despite all this trouble, I’m left without my deposit and am extremely dissatisfied with the entire experience. Budget, please resolve this promptly and refund my deposit.
