I Face Refund Refusal After Canceled Booking at Hotel Residence Spalena
On June 8, 2025, I made a reservation through Booking.com (reservation number 6319033212) for a stay at Hotel Residence Spalena between July 29 and July 31, 2025. I paid $233.98 in advance with my credit card. However, the hotel later canceled my reservation, claiming that renovations would take place during those dates. I was informed of the cancellation by message.
Afterward, I requested a refund for the amount I had already paid. Instead of processing it promptly, both the hotel and Booking.com kept asking me for repeated documentation such as payment proof and account details, dragging out the process. Despite providing all the requested information, no refund has been issued to date. While traveling abroad, I even visited the hotel in person and spoke directly with the receptionist, who assured me that the refund would be processed within two days. Yet more than 15 days have now passed, and nothing has been returned.
Both parties keep shifting the responsibility to one another, leaving me, the customer, caught in the middle. Taking the payment was instant, yet refunding it has become an endless struggle. I demand the immediate return of the $233.98 I paid without further excuses or delays.
