Booking.com Failed to Refund Me After Canceling My Reservation at Atlas Suites

I had an incredibly unprofessional experience with Booking.com. It began with my reservation at Atlas Suites in Iskados, Greece. The reservation offered free cancellation before a specified date. I canceled the reservation within the allowed time frame, yet the property still charged me the accommodation cost. Despite sending multiple messages to both the hotel and Booking.com, I received no response until I resorted to posting on X (formerly Twitter). While X is not meant for complaint management, customers are left with no other choice due to the lack of proper support. Booking.com's website claims that "If your booking has been canceled, Booking.com refunds you immediately. The processing time may take 7 to 12 days and depends on your bank." However, this is misleading. On X, they responded by stating that refunds take 15 business days. Now, more than 15 business days have passed, and I still have not received my refund. Booking.com has directed me to share additional information so they can "investigate," but there is no clear timeline for resolution. I will never use Booking.com again and strongly advise against booking at Atlas Suites, as their actions have proven to be unreliable. Additionally, Booking.com's customer service is virtually inaccessible. There’s no way to speak with a representative or get timely answers through their main support channels Today is marked as 1 month after cancellation of my reservation, but booking has not solved the issue yet. They asked me to provide additional documents which they need to review. It is really disappointing that their customer service on their website is not answering and helping, but they are back to me via X. They say they have to follow their procedure, but on the other hand they are misleading the customers on their website saying returns are done in 7-12 days. Don't trust this company, they did enough damage but did not cover it
