Booked Three Rooms in Budva, Country Events Made it Unsafe – Booking.com Won’t Refund

Between November 8–13, 2025, we made a reservation through Booking.com at the Gufo Apart Hotel in Budva, Montenegro for three rooms (for three families). The portion of the payment for our family alone was $597. Our booking confirmation number is 6313058956.
Shortly before our holiday, due to safety concerns with children, we were forced to cancel our trip because of events occurring in the country. Within about three days of the incidents, we contacted both the hotel and Booking.com requesting cancellation and refund of our reservation. Both the hotel and Booking.com rejected our cancellation and refund requests and offered no alternative or solution.
We did not find any clause in the cancellation policy covering extraordinary circumstances. Our airline (Pegasus) refunded our tickets quickly, preventing further loss; however, because the hotel and Booking.com did not show the same sensitivity, we suffered a financial loss.
Therefore, in view of this extraordinary situation beyond our control, we request that our reservation be cancelled and that the amount we paid be refunded in full.
