Baby Mall Demands $96 Repair Fee for Defective Tricycle Handle That Broke in 3 Days

On June 30, 2026, I purchased a Merkür brand baby tricycle from the Baby Mall Bursa Nilüfer store for $355. On the third day of use, July 2, 2026, the parent control push handle broke. Given that the handle broke after such a brief period of use, I consider the product to be inherently defective.
Following this issue, I contacted the store. After stalling for about a month, they claimed the broken handle was due to "user error" and demanded $96 just for the replacement part. Having already paid $355 for this tricycle, I find it completely unfair to be charged for a part that snapped on the third day and to have the store disclaim all responsibility for selling a defective item.
Initially, I only asked for the broken handle to be replaced free of charge; I did not request a full refund. However, the store rejected this request as well. Consequently, I am now demanding a full refund under defective product laws and asking that the tricycle be taken back. I have filed an official complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Board regarding this matter.
I expect Baby Mall to honor its responsibility regarding defective merchandise, address my financial loss, issue a full refund, and adopt a solution-oriented approach rather than blaming the consumer in such situations.
