Shocking Price Increase on AXA Health Insurance Renewal

August 22, 2023 6:52 PM63

I bought Axa Sigorta health insurance for my parents and myself last year. During the renewal period this year, they increased the premium for the same policy we had last year by a whopping 3.5 times. We decided to renew and pay in installments, but to our surprise, the installment option had been disabled. If we wanted to pay in installments, they would charge us an extra 3,000. They had offered various installment plans as well as reasonable policy prices during their first year as customers. However, when it came time to renew the policy for the second year, all of those options were no longer available! It's ridiculous how they've commercialized something that people do for their health. A truly unfortunate situation!

When calculating the health insurance policy premium amount, criteria such as the insured's age, usage status due to the absence of a Renewal Guarantee in the policy, and the inflation rate in the health sector are taken into account. As with other annual policies, the insurance premium is determined based on these data during the renewal period. Additionally, the calculation system for health expenses is shaped by TTB prices (Turkish Medical Association) on one hand, and can undergo changes due to technological developments on the other hand. In this regard, we would like to inform you that no errors were found in the control related to the premium amount of our policyholders and that no different evaluation can be made. Sincerely, AXA SİGORTA A.Ş. Customer Complaint Management
