I Was Charged a Fee on My Inactive Restructured Card
I have noticed a card fee of ₺1,149 charged to my credit card, which has been under restructuring and unavailable for use for the past five months. Had I known I would find myself in such a situation, I would have closed all my accounts with Akbank— including my demand deposit accounts—immediately after clearing my debt. Upon contacting the bank, I was offered a partial refund of ₺500 on the condition that I keep the card open for another six months. I do not accept such a one-sided commitment, which feels more like a form of contractual servitude than customer service. Unless this fee is fully reversed, I will not only cancel all my remaining cards with Akbank, but I will also make sure to inform those around me about this unfair treatment. I have been informed that I can file a formal complaint through legal channels. If necessary, I will pursue this matter in court.
