On March 2, 2025, Akbank deducted ₺1,149.50 from my Axess credit card ending in 0850 under the name of a credit card membership fee. I request a full refund of the deducted amount. I demand that the membership fee be canceled and refunded to me in accordance with the legal provisions stated below, without any additional conditions.
According to Article 31, Paragraph 3 of the Consumer Law No. 6502 dated May 28, 2014, card-issuing institutions are required to offer a type of credit card to consumers that does not charge an annual membership fee or similar fees. Additionally, under Article 6 of the Law on Consumer Protection No. 4077, as amended by Law No. 4822, regarding unfair terms in contracts, the membership fee charged by your bank constitutes an unfair term without any service provided in return. Furthermore, according to the final decision numbered 2011/4736 and 2011/11579 issued by the 13th Civil Chamber and pursuant to Article 125 and the General Assembly of Law's (HGK) decision numbered 2010/1-93-88, card membership fees that were previously deducted must be refunded retroactively.
Based on these laws and legal provisions, I request a refund of the deducted membership fees. I expect the cancellation and refund of the membership fee within the day and request notification via SMS and email. Otherwise, I will apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee to seek the return of the fee and to address my grievance. I kindly request the necessary action to be taken.
