AJet Charged Us Again For Already Paid Baggage At Boarding
On August 24, 2026, I flew with AJet on flight VF-583 from Ankara (ESB) to Tashkent (TAS) under booking reference 4LU4CH and ticket number 2042462953930. For this journey, we prepaid for 20 kg of checked baggage for each of our three passengers, totaling 60 kg under Bundle XBAG 20 KG.
At check-in, AJet staff confirmed that two cabin-size suitcases met the published dimensions (55x40x23 cm, under 8 kg) and could be carried on board. However, immediately prior to boarding at the gate, staff reversed this approval and presented an ultimatum: pay an additional 5,607.70 TRY on the spot or be denied boarding. Left with no choice, we paid the amount, after which the two cabin suitcases were placed in the aircraft hold—even though our prepaid 60 kg allowance had not been exceeded.
I consider this an unjustified duplicate baggage charge imposed under extreme pressure. I have photo evidence of the suitcases, baggage tags, receipts, and booking documents. I demand a full refund of the 5,607.70 TRY fee, a formal apology, and a written itemized calculation explaining the tariff and weight breakdown used for this charge.
