On December 20, 2025, during baggage check-in before my Turkish Airlines flight from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Paris, I encountered a serious problem regarding baggage fees. I was traveling on an economy ticket purchased through AJet, with PNR number 3AU3K1. At the check-in counter, I was informed that I did not have any checked baggage allowance and that my baggage would only be accepted for an additional fee. Due to the very short time remaining before my flight, I felt compelled to accept this situation. I was then directed to the sales office on the grounds that payment could not be made at the check-in counter, which also contributed to the stress and time pressure I was under. At the sales office, I was charged 1,505 TL for my first suitcase, weighing 14 kg, and 4,812 TL for my second suitcase, weighing 12 kg, for a total of 6,317 TL. I find this charge extremely problematic for several reasons. There is a clearly disproportionate and inexplicable difference between the fees charged for baggage of very similar weights on the same flight. Before payment, I was not provided with a transparent and written fee schedule that would allow me to understand the pricing. Due to the time pressure and the risk of missing my flight, this fee was effectively imposed on me, and I did not have a real opportunity to make an informed choice. I believe that this practice is contrary to the principles of good faith and transparency and is detrimental to the consumer. It is unacceptable that such different fees are charged for the same flight and similar baggage conditions, and I am convinced that I have been overcharged and subjected to an unfair baggage fee. For these reasons, I request that I be provided with a detailed written explanation of how these baggage fees were calculated and on what basis such a difference arose between the two suitcases. I also request that the unfair and disproportionate portion of the amount collected from me be refunded. In addition, I request that the necessary investigation be initiated regarding the relevant personnel and processes, and that measures be taken to ensure that similar grievances are not experienced by other passengers in the future.
