Airbnb Refunded Guest Without Review and Penalized Me Unfairly


I am deeply disappointed with Airbnb’s handling of a recent booking. Despite having a strict cancellation policy, Airbnb canceled a three-month-old reservation without allowing me to present my side. A guest booked my villa during the winter, fully informed that the pool was closed. After staying for two hours, they fabricated complaints about a water puddle near the pool and an unrelated energy panel. Airbnb refunded the guest in full and even imposed a penalty fee on me.
Although I managed to have the penalty removed after much effort, I am still left with significant losses. The guest used the villa, ate, showered, and left without paying. My calendar was blocked for months, and I am unfairly burdened with the financial damage.
Airbnb’s support team has been unresponsive and unhelpful. I demand compensation for my losses and a thorough review of this situation to prevent such incidents in the future. As a host, I feel completely unsupported.
