I Was Denied Boarding on Air Montenegro Flight Despite Ticket and Lost €400 in Damages

I booked a round-trip ticket with Air Montenegro for a September 2, 2024 flight from İzmir to Tivat, returning on September 5. I arrived at the airport two hours early for check-in. But when my turn came, I was told the plane was full and there was no seat for me—even though I had a confirmed ticket. I wasn’t the only one; around 10 other passengers were also denied boarding.

They offered me a seat on another flight departing on September 5, which obviously didn’t match my plans. Later, they mentioned a flight at 10 PM to Istanbul, landing in Podgorica instead of Tivat—but only if seats were available. I was traveling alone and didn’t feel safe arriving in a different city at midnight, especially without any clarity on ground transport or accommodations. I also had already paid for a hotel in Tivat, which would go to waste. I declined and requested a refund.

It’s now been 4 days. I provided my email and phone number at the airport, but I’ve received no follow-up. I’ve sent multiple emails—still nothing. I’ve lost €400 due to the canceled hotel, broken travel plans, and no service at all from Air Montenegro. How is this not outright theft? I paid upfront, received no flight, no service, and no compensation. I demand a full refund of my €400 losses immediately. This was my first and absolutely last time using this airline.
