I Rented a Dubai Apartment on Agoda but Never Got My Deposit Back from Host
I booked an apartment in Dubai through Agoda, completed the full payment via the platform, and assumed everything was in order. However, upon arrival, the host demanded an additional $100 deposit, which I paid in cash, trusting that I’d get it back upon checkout as promised.
When it was time to leave, the host became completely unreachable. I messaged and called several times with no response. Eventually, I managed to get in touch, and they claimed they would send the deposit—but once again, they ghosted me and never followed through.
Even more frustrating is that Agoda hasn’t responded to any of my attempts to report this. There’s no real customer support or accountability, and I’m stuck chasing a deposit I should’ve never had to fight for in the first place.
I demand that Agoda take responsibility, follow up with the host, and either ensure I get my ₺ deposit back or refund me directly. It’s unacceptable to let hosts exploit guests without consequence on your platform.
My issue was not resolved, my deposit refund did not arrive, Agoda is not concerned with the matter.
