Agoda Refused My Refund for Faulty Montpellier Property Reservation

I stayed at a property in Montpellier, France, with reservation ID 1426503592. There was a loud noise coming from the air conditioner in the toilet, so I closed the toilet door. However, when I tried to open the door later, it wouldn’t budge. Despite my best efforts, the door remained stuck. I contacted the property owner, who said someone could come to fix it, but not until the next day. I asked what I was supposed to do in the meantime, as I couldn’t use the toilet in my apartment. When I mentioned I would go to the police about the situation, the owner responded, "You could leave the property if you like, and I would refund your money." Trusting this statement, I made a reservation at another hotel and left the apartment. However, the owner stopped responding to me, and even Agoda has ignored my emails. How can both the property owner and Agoda take my money and refuse to return it? This was a 5-day reservation, and I feel completely let down. Agoda is a terrible app in my experience, and I will never use Agoda again!
