I booked a stay at Vicolo Model Hotel through Agoda and called the hotel to confirm my reservation. The hotel initially confirmed my booking, but the next day, someone named P*** from the hotel called me, stating that my reservation was no longer valid** because they had sold out all the rooms. They also claimed that they do not work with Agoda and have no connection to them, yet somehow, they had access to my booking details.
My reservation number is 1534514692, and despite repeatedly contacting Agoda customer support, they kept insisting that they had spoken to the hotel and that I could stay there. This was completely false. When I called the hotel again, they confirmed that no one from Agoda had contacted them. After reaching out to Agoda once more, I received the exact same scripted response, claiming that the hotel had confirmed my booking—even though the hotel explicitly stated otherwise.
I ended up paying 2038.02₺ for a reservation I couldn’t use, with no alternative accommodation provided and no refund issued. Agoda and the hotel kept blaming each other, leaving me stranded without a place to stay. Their customer support is terrible, and there is no proper support for customers in Turkey.
This experience has been a complete nightmare, and I do not want anyone else to go through what I did. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Consumer Rights Court, but since Agoda does not operate in my country, I am unsure what kind of response I will receive.
I demand a full refund immediately! Agoda must take responsibility for their misleading booking system and their failure to properly assist customers.
