I trusted Aegean Airlines and booked round-trip tickets to Rhodes Island—departure on May 29 and return on June 3—for what was supposed to be my honeymoon. While preparing for my Schengen visa application, I found out that Aegean canceled my outbound flight without notifying me. This was only discovered because the flight no longer appeared on my itinerary, despite still showing up as active on booking apps like Enuygun.
Because of this unannounced cancellation, my visa application was negatively impacted, creating unnecessary complications and stress during a time that was supposed to be joyful. I then tried to cancel both my outbound and return flights in order to attempt a visa-on-arrival process. But to my shock, Aegean wants to charge me nearly ₺10,000 for the return leg—even though it is listed as a refundable ticket.
This entire ordeal has cost me time, money, and emotional peace, not to mention seriously compromising a once-in-a-lifetime experience—my honeymoon. Aegean’s lack of communication and rigid policies are unacceptable. I demand a full refund for both legs of the trip and urge the airline to take accountability for the inconvenience and financial loss they caused.
