Zip Car Won't Respond to My Debt Settlement Request
In 2023, I rented a vehicle through the Zip Car app in Çekmeköy, Istanbul. While driving on a bridge, I was involved in an accident during heavy traffic. Because traffic was completely backed up, it was not possible to stop safely. We immediately contacted customer service, and they instructed us to call the police. However, due to the traffic conditions, we were unable to stop and wait for law enforcement. The vehicle was later collected from us by Zip Car.
After the incident, I was billed for the vehicle's repair costs and diminished value. The total amount was approximately $2,500, which I was unable to pay at the time. Because the balance remained unpaid, the case was transferred to collections, and I am now dealing with an attorney regarding a debt that has grown to approximately $5,128.
I am currently trying to reach a reasonable settlement with the attorney so I can resolve this debt. I would like to negotiate a payment plan or a reasonable reduction in the amount owed. However, I have been informed that Zip Car has not responded to the attorney or actively communicated during this process.

I also request that the company contact me directly regarding this matter as soon as possible.
