Yapi Kredi Bank's Hidden Insurance Fees
The bank also serves as my salary bank, neither benefiting nor causing any harm. I wasn't even aware that 2355 TL had been deducted for life insurance in connection with the 125,000 TL loan (337 IM047255) I obtained in May! There's no mention of this in the approval documents or contracts I received; I have all the evidence. Furthermore, when I contacted Allianz, they told me the insurance could be canceled within 1 month, not by the bank itself, but when I called them. In fact, they directed me to Yapi Kredi and advised me to seek confirmation of the transaction from them to proceed with the cancellation. When I visited the Kızılay branch, an employee there insisted it was 'mandatory,' assuring me that my salary was secure and arranging for another insurance policy. However, given my long-standing relationship with this bank, I immediately contacted customer service and was told otherwise. They confirmed that it was not mandatory and canceled the policy. It turned out to be a new insurance, and the employee had a quota to meet. Dear Yapi Kredi officials, if the fee is indeed requested by the insured for insurance linked to the loan, as per the relevant article of Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 concerning insurance regulations, then policy cancellation and the refunding of the respective amount to the customer's account are warranted. I request the cancellation of the insurance and the reimbursement of the fee into my account. If the refund is not processed, I will file a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee within 3 days!
