Unauthorized Use of Phone Number for Western Union Transfer
On July 18, 2024, I received a message from Western Union stating: "Good news, your transfer with Samra MTCN 1872295362 has been successfully received." I learned from Western Union customer service that my phone number was used for this transaction. However, I did not carry out such a transaction. It should not be possible for any phone number not belonging to the sender to be used in transfer transactions at Western Union branches. I do not consent to any transactions made using my phone number. I have explicitly stated that I will not accept responsibility for any illegal situations that may occur. The failure to receive a confirmation message when the money was transferred, and receiving a confirmation message only when the money was collected by the recipient, is a mistake by Western Union.
