Samsung Refrigerator Making Excessive Noise Before Breaking Down
I purchased a Samsung RB50RS334WW refrigerator, which was installed and put into use on December 7, 2021. The product warranty remains valid until December 7, 2028.
As of September 15, 2026, the refrigerator had not even reached five years of use. Despite being equipped with inverter motor technology, which is designed to provide quiet operation, it had become excessively noisy and was running almost continuously. I therefore opened a service request with Samsung.
On September 29, a service technician visited my home. However, the technician only checked the cooling performance, dismissed my complaint by stating that “there is no cooling problem,” and left without taking any action to investigate or resolve the excessive noise and continuous operation.
From that date until October 31, the refrigerator continued making noise like a tractor and running almost constantly. This caused considerable disturbance to our household and also contributed to a significant increase in our electricity bill, which had previously been around 600 TL but rose to over 1,000 TL.
On October 31, the refrigerator's compressor stopped working completely, and all the food inside began to thaw. When I contacted Samsung's service department, I was told that, because it was almost the end of the working day on Saturday, the earliest available appointment would be Monday, November 2, 2026.
The technicians arrived on the afternoon of November 2 and took the refrigerator away for repair. They informed me that the estimated repair time could be as long as 23 days and that, even under the best circumstances, the refrigerator might not be returned for at least 15 days.
We are a family of four, and being left without a refrigerator for such an extended period has placed us in a very difficult situation. In addition to the food and meat that have spoiled, there is no certainty about when the refrigerator will be repaired and returned, or whether the underlying problem will be permanently resolved.
If my initial complaint had been taken seriously during the first service visit, preventive action might have been possible before the refrigerator broke down completely, or the repair might have been completed much sooner. The failure to properly investigate my complaint during that first visit has caused us both financial and considerable personal hardship.
My original service order number is 4251876387, and my customer number is 7219522176.
I request that Samsung take the technician's failure to address my initial complaint into account and ensure that my refrigerator is permanently repaired as soon as possible or replaced if necessary. I also request appropriate compensation for the hardship caused by the days we have been left without a refrigerator, as well as reasonable reimbursement for the food products we lost and the additional electricity costs resulting from the refrigerator's abnormal operation.
Finally, I expect Samsung to provide me with clear, written information about the repair process, the expected completion and delivery date, and the steps that will be taken to resolve this matter permanently.
