VW Golf 8 Chronic SOS Fault Not Covered After Warranty

In 2021, I purchased a brand-new Volkswagen Golf 8 Life, a car I chose willingly and with great enthusiasm. After using the vehicle for some time, I encountered the well-known SOS system fault, which is widely recognized as a chronic issue across the entire VW group. This problem is clearly discussed in both local and international forums as a manufacturing-related defect.

As soon as my 2-year warranty expired, the SOS fault reappeared. In 2024, I took my car to Tamaş authorized service. However, I was asked to pay €1,000 + VAT to fix this issue. Since this amount is extremely high, I had no choice but to leave without having the repair done.

It is unacceptable that a clearly documented, manufacturing-related chronic defect is being treated as a paid repair after the warranty period. This is not a user-related issue, and the financial burden should not be placed on the customer.

I request that Volkswagen address this chronic SOS fault under goodwill and corporate responsibility, and fully repair my vehicle free of charge, including both parts and labor. Otherwise, I am prepared to pursue my legal rights, including filing a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee.
